| Emergency Financial Assistance |
Immigrants who experience economic difficulties and already used up all their rights for financial assistance, are eligible to a special one-time grant from the Ministry of Immigrant Absorption. The grant is given to immigrants who came to Israel after 1990, and can be used for one of the following:
Housing in a hostel for up to one month
Special medical expenses or purchase of medical equipment
Urgent dental care for children
Living expenses for up to one month
Purchase of essential household equipment, basic food and children’s clothing
Special assistance for immigrants who have experienced a tragedy
The grant is not given directly to the immigrant, but paid directly to the service agency or provider.

The National Insurance Institute of Israel is the central welfare body, securing reasonable income for people in need: retired, unemployed, disabled, pensioners, single-parent families and many more.
