| Ministry of Finance Eases Personal Import Taxes |

Customs and Purchase Tax will both be amended to reflect the Trajtenberg Committee's recommendations:
 Customs Tax will be cancelled for items up to 325$ (equivalent to 1,200 NIS)
Import Tax will be canceled for items up to 75$ (equivalent to 277 NIS)
The exemptions will take place under the following conditions:
1. Items are sent through post or air mail
2. Items are for personal use only
3. Total transaction does not exceed 325$ (equivalent to 1,200 NIS)
The exemptions are expected to simplify the personal import of goods, up to 75$, that are not sent as gift parcels. Exemptions do not apply to tobacco products or alcoholic beverages.
